Torytrans develops a portable system to combat sleep apnea

Ten years ago we decided to start new lines of research.One of them was trying to find out the causes of sleep apnea and develop alternative solutions to treat it.

Sleep disorders can have very negative consequences for our health, such as metabolic, neurological and cardiovascular problems and a higher accident rate during working hours.

Our mission was to develop a portable device that would provide a patient with an immediate remedy for sleep apnea.

Nine years and three technological projects with the support of CDTI  (Center for Industrial Technological Development) have borne fruit, culminating in the development of the Kalinix Device.

Currently in the pre-commercial phase, Kalinix is ​​a great solution for sleep apnea, the success of which is already visible in all the scientific tests carried out.

This small machine has connected sensors and actuators that are placed on the patient's pharyngo-laryngeal muscles, which predict when each episode of apnea will occur.

In the event of an episode, the device applies a special small electric shock that causes the opening of the collapsed airway.

This improves all the patient's respiratory parameters in real time, without discomfort and in a safe and comfortable way.
